ในการโจมตีค่าเงินบาท กลุ่มนักลงทุนเน้นทำลายความเชื่อมั่นของค่าเงิน โดยอาศัยปัจจัยพื้นฐานทางเศรษฐกิจของประเทศที่อ่อนแอ (การขาดดุลบัญชีเดินสะพัดจำนวนมาก การมีหนี้ระยะสั้นสูงเมื่อเทียบกับเงินสำรองระหว่างประเทศ) มาสร้างกระแสเพื่อให้เกิดข่าวลือว่าจะมีการลดค่าเงินบาท เมื่อตลาดเชื่อข่าวลือกก็ทำให้มีการขายเงินบาทหนีไปถือเงินดอลลาร์ สรอ. จึงนำเงินทุนสำรองทางการถึง 24,000 ล้านดอลลาร์ สรอ. หรือคิดเป็น 2 ใน 3 ของเงินสำรองทั้งหมดมาใช้เพื่อปกป้องค่าเงินบาทจนทำให้เงินสำรองทางการเหลืออยู่เพียง 2,850 ล้านดอลลาร์ สรอ. ซึ่งเป็นระดับที่ต่ำมากเมื่อเทียบกับปลายปี 2539 ที่มีถึง 38,seven hundred ล้านดอลลาร์ สรอ. สรุปแล้ว เศรษฐกิจไทยในปี 2567 มีแนวโน้มฟื้นตัวดีขึ้นจากปีก่อน แต่ก็ยังเต็มไปด้วยความท้าทายจากปัจจัยลบนอกประเทศที่นับวันจะยิ่งซับซ้อนและเปลี่ยนแปลงเร็วขึ้น รวมถึงข้อจำกัดจากปัญหาเชิงโครงสร้างภายในประเทศที่ยังเป็นอุปสรรคในการเติบโตอย่างยั่งยืน โจทย์สำคัญคือ New Engine of Growth ที่จะยกระดับเศรษฐกิจไทยคืออะไร คงต้องหาคำตอบกันต่อไป… เพราะหุ้นที่ถืออยู่ก่อนหน้านี้ขาดทุนไปแล้วกว่า 50 % แต่ก็ไม่มีทางเลือกนี่นา ขายก็ขาย ฮึบ!!
